Converting a cupboard into an ethanol fireplace
Looking for ideas on how to incorporate an ethanol fireplace into your decor?
Here's how to transform an apéro cupboard into an ethanol fireplace.
At the start of his project, one of our customers, Mr J., wanted to integrate an ethanol fireplace into the décor of his home.
After asking us for advice, and after some hesitation, his choice fell on a 50 cm burner.
He then decided to transform an apéro cupboard into an ethanol fireplace.
Here are some pictures showing the different stages of the transformation:
Stage 1: The aperitif cupboard
As you can see, the cupboard was located under a niche in the corner of the living room.
Step 2: Remove the doors and fit a fireplace frame
Once the cupboard had been emptied, the doors were removed and the shelf lowered to the height of the skirting board.
The client then had the idea of reusing the oak frame of a 19th-century fireplace.
Step 3: Paint the back and create a niche for the burner
Mr. J. then painted the back of the cupboard the same colour as the oak fireplace surround.
Then, in order to insert the 50 cm double-walled 3.5 Kw burner, he drilled a niche 48.5 cm wide X 14.5 cm deep X 7.7 cm high (i.e. the dimensions of the burner body + 1 cm for expansion) in the old shelf in his cupboard.
The final result
All that's left to do is fill the burner with bio-ethanol, using the electric pump, and light the burner using the long lighter.
As you can see, the end result is stunning.
See how, in just a few minutes, with a few tricks, a few tools, some paint and a 50 cm burner from Wikao, you can transform an apéro cupboard into an ethanol fireplace.
Well done to Mr J. for this achievement and thank you for sending us his photos.
