Contemporary panoramic chequerboard

This contemporary canvas has an old-fashioned, aged feel. The paint has deliberately been given a patina, creating a very graphic, textured effect. The use of dark colours is offset by their natural feel. Ochre, sienna and umber are combined in a composition that creates a chequerboard effect.
